¡Gracias Lawrence!

Harsh Vardan:

I have just learnt the sad news that Lawrence G. Marshall

has passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday.

Laurie as he was fondly known was the author of several books on overseas railway subjects

particularly India & Spain which he explored when mainline steam was still in operation.

He organised and lead more than twenty tours to India.

He was a great photographer and perfectionist renowned for his locomotive shots in classic poses.

Laurie was a supporter of the cause of steam and heritage preservation in India

and had attended ISRS Conference in 2011 as Keynote speaker.

May he reside in steam heaven forever.
